Hot Weather and Melting Gifts: buyers beware and some recommendations

The season of hot and unforgiving weather is upon us. Sending a gift basket with chocolate contents could be a hazard. Since a lot of baskets contain chocolate items we recommend not sending those. Many of the baskets will have the chocolate contents substituted with hard candies (make sure you read the substitution policies). Many gift basket stores will not guarantee damage to the chocolates (because they said not to order them). In addition, if you want to send a basket with chocolates to a hot climate, we recommend sending it next day delivery.

The option to sending chocolate gift baskets would be to send something along the plain gourmet, cheese (this is iffy too), picnic baskets, or even something with nuts (Nuts on the Net). This would be the way to prevent a messy delivery of a gift that you wanted someone to have.
